GOING GA GA FOR LA LA LAND

Do you remember the last time you watched a movie and it made your heart sing? Made you laugh and cry and want to stand up and clap like a crazy person?

Well, that is what La La Land did for me when I watched it on Friday night. It was as if someone took a regular movie and sprinkled it with magic fairy dust. When Ryan and Emma started tap-dancing, I leaned over to Matt and whispered “I’ve died and gone to heaven”.

Granted, tap dancing might not sell you. But a Golden Globe winning performance by Ryan Gosling will.

La La Land is the story of a quirky musician and a wannabe actress who strike up a grand love affair – a romance that is tested as their careers begin to pull them apart.

Yes, it’s a movie musical, but not the gag-inducing kind. This film is beautiful and enchanting. Described as a bitter-sweet love letter to old Hollywood, there really is no better description for La La Land. As someone who has always dreamed of working on a film set, this movie only served to swell my desire. Watch the teasers and you’ll see what I mean. It’s my new favouritist movie ever!

Much love, Katie x
