I will preface this by saying that the last time I did a jello shot I was at University in Dunedin. And actually, from memory, they were vodka gummy bears that had been soaking for days and had all stuck together in a mass at the bottom of a big plastic bag. My biochemistry lab buddy at the time had just got into med school, so I trusted her creation.Β 

I sat at the kitchen table of a party chatting and slowing picking my way through the bag of little coloured bears, peeling their slimy bodies apart and chewing them quickly. I didn’t think they were having much effect on me – until I tried to walk home down the hill on frosty tarmac and ended up flat on my back staring at the bright stars of a crisp Dunedin night.

All-in-all, it was a great experience that I remember fondly. So as it is Friday, I decided to share a link to this easy recipe for pink lemonade jello shots. Hollow out some lemons, pour in the mixture, let them set, cut them up and then wander around a party handing them out, looking like the hostess with the jello shot mostess.

If I was offered one of these at a gathering, I would be pretty damn impressed. Happy Friday!
