Today I thought I would share a Ted talk by Esther Perel. I was reminded of her talk after seeing her tagged in an Instagram post with Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne over the weekend. Turns out Esther has built a high-profile following for her work on personal and professional relationships.

When I was at university I read a book about human desire. It explained that human beings have two conflicting needs: the need for certainty/comfort and the need for uncertainty/variety – the latter being the enemy of a long-term, committed relationship and the former, being a killer of desire. In this talk, Esther discusses the sacred space between two people and how the way in which this space is occupied can change the dynamic of a relationship completely.

Curated post up on Wednesday!
