CITY OF SAILS

As I exited the car at the Ponsonby Yacht Club, my friend and budding photographer exclaimed “Wow. That is one hell of an outfit…”

And it definitely demands your attention. This is yet another look that provides pure escapism (becoming a theme on this site). However, instead of another time, it takes you to another place. I am transported from New Zealand to Monaco.

I’ve wanted some outrageous cream silky pants for a while and I also needed a top to wear on my Friday nights out. I am such a fan of buying an outfit as a whole that can then be split into two different looks for two completely different occasions. It’s smart shopping. I’m thinking a vintage tee with the white pants and a pair of skinny jeans with the bustier. I will re-work these in later posts for anyone feeling as though a full white two-piece is out of their style sphere.

But every now and again we should walk toward a friend and hear them utter the word wow. It’s a reminder of how powerful beautiful clothes can be – how they can transport us anywhere we want to go and unearth who we want to be.
