Sunday was hot and balmy. So I decided to take the dog for a walk to enjoy the weather. We rounded the corner of a tree-lined street and I noticed two guys working on a car. As I wandered past, one of them yelled out to me.

“Wanna fuck?”

Just like that. Nothing more. A simple question. He then awaited my response.

“Not today.” I quickly replied.

You know I’m no good with come-backs on the spot!!

I felt quite shocked really. Although I had to admire his direct approach (you don’t get if you don’t ask), I felt a little violated.

As you can imagine, I pondered the proposition for the remainder of the walk. My head filled with questions that I would have loved to ask him…

1) How does that usually work out for you – like, what is your hit rate?

2) What sort of girl does it usually work on?

3) What would you have done if I had decided to take you up on that offer? “Oh thank god, I thought you’d never ask! Get those greasy mits on my body right this second!”

I consider myself pretty open and when I want a guy, I shall find a way to let him know it. But I don’t go walking around asking outright. Yes, we are in the age of Tinder now – but has chivalry really died a slow painful death.

I know we are busier than ever before, but surely we are not too busy for a.. “Hi, how are you? You look very nice today. I like your dog. Do you live around here? Those are great denim cut-offs. How would you feel about a fuck?”

Just saying.

Much love XX
